Cellar Every variety is vinified separately. The must stay in contact with the skins until the end of the fermentation. After the final blend, the wine matures in new oak barrels for 8 months. Just as the marriage of the Italian grape Sangiovese and international (French) grapes originated the Supertuscans, we could well call this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and two typical Greek indigenous grapes (Mavrodafne and Agiorgitiko) that is the beautiful Greek wine Mega Spileo Cuvee III red 2018 a… Superhellenic! This wine is issued out of small vineyards placed in the mountains perched above the Vouraikos Canyon at over 800 meters above sea, located in north-western part of Peloponnese. The vineyard sits like a slowly lowered field, dropped down past the granite walls to settle in its place. Vinification process includes pre-fermentation extraction at low temperatures (24-48 hours), malolactic fermentation and maturing in new oak barrels (80% French and 20% American oak) for 16-24 months, reductive aging in bottles for at least 24 months. This deep purple, very dark wine offers you a panoply of different aromas and flavours in it: candied flowers, resin, dried herbs, aromas of rustic sauna, spices, sweet pastry, blackberry, ripe plum, blueberry and sour sloe notes. Fruity, smoky and long finish. Warm and lush in the mouth You can enjoy this wine with a friend, along with a cigar, or some chocolate; or pair it with a nice steak and enjoy its evolution if you can resist sipping it at once.
