The wine has a straw yellow color in the glass. The scent is very special, refreshing with hints of apple, honey, melon and subtle notes of peach. In the mouth intense with balanced acids and exotic fruit, citrus in the medium aftertaste
Kangun is a cross of Bukholimansky bely with Rkatsiteli, mostly used to produce the famous Ararat brandy. Itcontributes with notes of sweet apricot, quince, and blossom flavors on the palate with a long, luxurious finish where the fruits and florals linger long after each sip. Chenin Blanc, not an Armenian grape, has been grown around the town of Angers on the Loire for centuries, perhaps for more than a millennium. Rabelais mentions it both as Chenin and by its common Loire synonym Pineau. The wine it produces is notably high in acidity, which can be quite useful in a warm climate, like in Armenia. Today far more Chenin Blanc is planted in both California and South Africa than in France. KARAS Wines is an organic and sustainable Armenian winery producing world-class vintages from their own vineyards in Armavir, under the eternal gaze of Mount Ararat. The soil characteristics are mainly volcanic and the rich loam also contains a stony texture ideally suited for the production of highly concentrated wines. The Karas estate is owned by Armenian-Argentine billionaire Eduardo Eurnekian, who has a net worth of $1.9 billion, with his niece Juliana Del Aguila who hired Bordeaux-based oenologist Michel Rolland as a consultant winemaker and Gabriel Rogel from Argentina as the chief winemaker.
