Deep red colour with lively purple hues. Complex aroma of blackberry, cherry, plum, gooseberry, leather and white pepper, with an elegant wooden background. Dense yet balanced in the mouth, with smooth tannins and an acidity that allows further aging. It has a plum-cassis-black-cherry nose with some savoury, sandalwood-cedar notes. Long and pleasant finish. It is ready to drink now, however, its aging potential will be achieved in 10 more years. Both grapes are harvested by hand in the mid of October. This wine is the recipient of several international awards & accolades. The 2013 vintage is dense yet balanced on the palate with smooth tannins and long pleasant finish. Best if decanted for a couple hours before drinking. A true meditation wine, you can also pair it with beef, lamb, poultry, game (deer and venison) and robust cheese.
Red wine, PGI Achaia (alcohol 14 %) THE BEST RED WINE FROM GREECE OF 2014 BY MUNDUS VINI According to DECANTER, this is an intense and concentrated nose of jasmine and orange peel leading the way to a full throttle yet juicy palate. Beautifully textured, long and persistent; an exciting wine. This blend of two Greek red indigenous grapes 60% Mavrodafne and 40% of Mavro Kalavrytino. Both grapes achieve late maturity in their cool terroir. This wine rests on the lees 31 months in mostly new French oak barrels. Then it is left to refine 24 months in bottle before to be released in the market.
