In Greek mythology, Nemea was ruled by king Lycurgus and queen Eurydice. Nemea was famous in Greek myth as the home of the Nemean Lion, which was killed by the hero Heracles.
Red dry wine, PDO Nemea This amazing full-bodied wine is 100% crafted from hand-picked indigenous Agiorgitiko (St. George) grapes, grown in ancient Nemea region in Peloponnese. Bright with ripe red cherry, dark fruit, a toasty vanilla flavour on this food-friendly, full-bodied red. Aged 2 years in French oak barrels and over 3 years in the bottle. It boasts aromas of red fruit syrup accented with spices. Robust, yet well-balanced tannic frame supported by long aftertaste of roasted nuts. Cellar for a decade or decant well and serve in a fine large glass at 17⁰C . Possibly pair with Greek cheese, stews, bak-kut-teh, strong curries and spicy dishes.
